Enzo Geraci and Josef Knopp have done it again. After claiming victory at Paul Ricard last April, the young Oregon Team duo found success in the first of two races at Monza, which hosted the second round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe.
A class win and second place overall for them, after climbing four positions, followed by another podium finish in race two with a third-place result. These strong performances earned them more valuable points and allowed them to further extend their lead in the Pro class, increasing their advantage by another 14 points over the pairing of Patrik Fraboni and Giacomo Pedrini, now trailing by 17.
Still under the Oregon Team banner, the duo of Rosario Messina and Gustaw Wisniewski – both in their debut season in the series reserved for cars from the Sant’Agata Bolognese manufacturer – continued the positive momentum they started in France, finishing seventh and then fifth in the same class.
A nearly perfect weekend at their home track for Massimo Ciglia and Pietro Perolini. After securing a best result of fifth place at Paul Ricard, they finished second twice in the Am class at Monza, proving they have the pace to aim for victory and making a solid leap forward in the standings. They are now third, just 11 points behind the leading duo of Piergiacomo Randazzo and Stéphane Tribaudini.
It was a mixed weekend for Adalberto Baptista in the Lamborghini Cup. After a winning debut at Paul Ricard in the opening race, the Brazilian arrived at Monza with the third-fastest time in class in the first qualifying session. However, in race one, Baptista was involved in an early incident and had to retire after only three laps. In Sunday’s race, he started from sixth, climbed through the field, and secured an impressive second-place finish.
The next round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe will take place at Spa-Francorchamps, during the same weekend as the 24 Hours (June 26–28). Meanwhile, the Oregon Team heads to Germany, where the Hockenheim circuit will host the third round of the International GT Open this weekend (June 7–8).
