More than a month after the season opener, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe returns to action this weekend for its second round, taking place at Monza.
On their home track, Oregon Team arrives leading the Pro class standings, with Frenchman Enzo Geraci and young Czech driver Josef Knopp leading the standings, following a victory and a fourth-place finish at the opening round at Paul Ricard.
It’s been an extremely positive start to the season for this brand-new pairing in the Italian team, who scored points in both races in France and are now aiming to perform strongly once again.
Also in the Pro class, the team led by Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa fields a second car for Rosario Messina and Gustaw Wisniewski. Both drivers are making their debut this year in the one-make series reserved for to the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 and finished eighth in class twice at Le Castellet.
After securing a best result of fifth in the Am category at Paul Ricard, Massimo Ciglia and Pietro Perolini are ready to try again on what is also their home track.
Completing the four-car lineup is Brazilian driver Adalberto Baptista, who made an impressive debut in the continental championship with a victory in the Lamborghini Cup. He currently sits just four points behind the class leader.
The weekend kicks off on Friday with two one-hour free practice sessions. Saturday will begin at 9 a.m. with two 20-minute qualifying sessions, followed by the first of two 50-minute races starting at 2:25 p.m. Race 2 is scheduled for Sunday at 11:20 a.m.
Both races will be broadcast live on the Lamborghini Squadra Corse YouTube channel.
