Oregon Team ended a positive weekend at Imola, narrowly missing out on a podium finish in the Italian GT Championship. The Cremosano-based team’s Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 secured fourth place overall and second in the Pro class at the Santerno circuit, shared on this occasion by returning drivers Enzo Geraci and Guido Luchetti, alongside third driver Maximilian Paul.
The German, returning to the track after the accident he suffered at the Norisring in the DTM last July, showed excellent form by setting the eighth-fastest time in his qualifying session. Tuscany’s Luchetti, in his first year in the category, performed even better, recording the fifth-fastest time in his session, while Frenchman Geraci completed the job by setting the seventh-fastest time in the third session. This placed the Oregon Team crew on a solid fourth row of the grid.
After the opening 100 minutes, the Lamborghini of the team led by Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa had already climbed from eighth to fourth place, remaining in close contact with the leading group throughout and showing strong race pace.
Paul, Geraci and Luchetti also delivered a consistent performance in the second half of the race, holding their position in the closing stages and ultimately securing fourth place overall in a 52-car field.
Oregon Team’s next appearance in the Italian series will be at Monza on 9-11 October, in the Italian GT Sprint Championship, while the Tuscan Mugello circuit will host the fourth and final round of the Endurance series in early November.
