Oregon Team back in business as Estoril prepares for season opener

Oregon Team is set to make its International GT Open debut this weekend (29 April-1 May) at the Estoril track. The Italian squad entries two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evos aiming to build on what it has done in the Super Trofeo last year.

After becoming the one-make series European champion in 2021, the driver duo Leonardo Pulcini and Kevin Gilardoni split up to drive different cars. 23-year-old Pulcini will partner newcomer Benjamín Hites in the No.63 machine, while Gilardoni will pair Glenn van Berlo in the N.19 Lambo.

Ahead of the Portuguese round, Oregon Team recently completed an intense test program at Barcelona, Paul Ricard and Monza focusing primarily on accumulating kilometers.

Pulcini has already raced a GT3 car in the Italian championship in 2020, as well as 22-year-old Chilean Hites who spent the last three seasons in the GT World Challenge Europe. Dutchman Van Berlo took part in the last year’s 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, while Gilardoni makes his debut in the category.

Friday the two free practice sessions (each of one hour) will kick-off the weekend. Qualifying one will start on Saturday at 11.35am, ahead of the first 70-minute race at 4.30pm. The second qualifying is scheduled on Sunday at 10.00am. Race two (60mts) will commence at 2.30pm CEST.

Both races will be live streamed on YouTube at www.youtube.com/user/GTOPENseries.
