Oregon Team heads to the Nürburgring, which this weekend hosts the fourth of six double-header rounds of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe. Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa’s squad arrives in Germany aiming to defend its lead in both the Pro class and the Lamborghini Cup, while also targeting a strong result in Pro-Am.
Leading the way in the top class are Patrik Fraboni and Silas Rytter, who claimed their third consecutive victory at Spa-Francorchamps last June, following their two wins at Imola. That result also propelled them to the top of the championship standings. The young Italian and his Danish teammate hold a seven-point advantage, having scored points in every race and finished inside the top five on each occasion so far.
Also competing in the Pro class will be Rogerio Grotta and Alfio Andrea Spina. Both are contesting their first season in the continental series organised by the Sant’Agata Bolognese manufacturer and have shown steady progress, although they are still chasing their maiden podium finish.
In Pro-Am, Josef Knopp and Pietro Perolini will be looking to return to the leading positions. Their season got off to an outstanding start, with two runner-up finishes in April’s opening round at Paul Ricard, followed by victory at Imola, before they experienced a more challenging weekend in Belgium.
Leading the Lamborghini Cup standings is Adalberto Baptista, also representing Oregon Team. The Brazilian, now in his second year in the series, opened his campaign in France with a third-place finish, before claiming victory at the following round in Imola and returning to the podium at Spa, where he finished second in the first of the weekend’s two races. He currently holds a six-point advantage over his closest rival.
The Nürburgring weekend will get underway tomorrow with the two customary free practice sessions. Qualifying will begin at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, while the first of the two 50-minute races will start at 3:10 p.m. Race 2 is scheduled for Sunday at 12:45 p.m., with both races once again streamed live on Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s official YouTube channel.
