Oregon Team shines with Mateu, Ponzio in Monza testing

The Oregon Team went on-track at Monza for a two-day testing session with their Norma M30 LMP3 as they are looking forward to the forthcoming engagement in the 2018 European Le Mans Series. On the Italian venue, the team fielded Frenchmen Clément Mateu and Riccardo Ponzio, who will be then joined by Colombian Andrés Méndez. The trio has already been confirmed by the Cremosano-based squad, which is aiming to impress at their second season in the continental series.

The outcome of the test was positive despite a technical problem that kept the French racecar in the pits for a long time during the first day. On Thursday, 43 laps were run with the dry, while the afternoon session was conditioned by rain.

“We are happy with the work done – commented Jerry Canevisio – Both Ponzio and Mateu adapted very well to our Norma. In addition, both were able to complete many kilometers in the wet gathering a great feedback that can become key during the season”.

The next ELMS commitment for the Oregon Team will be on the 9th and 10th of April for the series’ official test scheduled on the Paul Ricard circuit. The same venue will host the first of the six rounds scheduled for 2018.
