Oregon Team is ready to take on the Spa-Francorchamps round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, which reaches the third of six double-header events this weekend on the seven-kilometre Ardennes circuit.
Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa’s squad arrives in Belgium to complete a back-to-back weekend sequence, following a positive outing in the Italian GT Endurance at Monza last weekend. Flying the colours of the Cremosano-based team, Enzo Geraci, Guido Luchetti and Artem Petrov delivered a strong performance on home soil, finishing seventh overall in the three-hour race aboard the No. 36 Huracán GT3 EVO2. It was a particularly noteworthy result, achieved after a charge through the field from 21st on the grid (11th row), allowing the Oregon Team trio to score their first points of the season.
Now, however, attention turns to the Belgian round of the one-make championship reserved for cars from the Sant’Agata Bolognese manufacturer. Following their two victories in the most recent round at Imola last May, Patrik Fraboni and Silas Rytter sit just four points away from the Pro class lead. The Italian-Danish pairing also secured their third consecutive podium at the Santerno circuit, following a third-place finish in the season opener at Paul Ricard.
Also making their mark in the Pro class were Alfio Spina and Rógerio Grotta, who twice finished inside the top five at Imola with Oregon Team, recording a best result of fourth place in the opening race of the weekend.
In the Pro-Am class, Josef Knopp and Pietro Perolini also claimed a victory at Imola. After finishing second in both races in France, they now sit just one point away from the top of the standings. Meanwhile, Brazilian driver Adalberto Baptista leads the Lamborghini Cup standings. After taking victory in Race 2 at Imola and finishing third in France, the Oregon Team driver now holds a one-point advantage at the top of the championship.
The weekend programme will begin tomorrow with two free practice sessions. Qualifying will take place on Friday starting at 11:20 a.m., ahead of the first 50-minute race scheduled to get underway at 5:10 p.m. Race 2 will start on Saturday at 12:10 p.m. Both races will be broadcast live on Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s official YouTube channel.
