NEARLY PERFECT WEEKEND FOR OREGON TEAM AT THE NÜRBURGRING IN THE LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO EUROPE, HIGHLIGHTED BY CIGLIA-PEROLINI’S DOUBLE WIN IN AM

Oregon Team returns from the Nürburgring with heads held high. A positive weekend for the Cremosano-based squad in the fourth of six double rounds of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, further sweetened by a double victory in the Am class.

Starting with the Pro category, Enzo Geraci and Josef Knopp once again delivered solid results, finishing on the podium twice. The points they collected proved crucial, allowing them to maintain a comfortable lead in the Pro standings, with a 14-point margin over their closest rivals.

At the German circuit, Knopp secured the fifth-fastest lap in class in the opening qualifying session, while Geraci posted the fourth-best time in Q2. In Race 1, Knopp initially lost a position, but after the pit stops Geraci climbed to third and, with 15 minutes remaining, overtook Malaysian driver Adam Putera to move into second. He held on through a brief full course yellow and the red flag that ended the race just before the clock expired. In Race 2, which started on a damp track that gradually dried, Knopp initially gained second place in class. After the driver change, Geraci brought the car home in third. Also in Pro, Rosario Messina and Gustaw Wisniewski completed both races, finishing ninth and eighth respectively.

A true masterpiece came from Massimo Ciglia and Pietro Perolini, who not only confirmed their consistent scoring record so far this season, but completely dominated the weekend with back-to-back victories in Am. Their flawless performance boosted them in the championship standings, bringing them within just two points of the class leaders, with four races still to go.

Ciglia shone in the first qualifying session with the second-best time in class, matched by Perolini in Q2. In Race 1, Ciglia held his position at the start, and Perolini did the same after the pit stop before seizing the lead in the closing stages, securing their first win of the season. In Race 2, Perolini made a perfect start, moving up to third overall on the opening lap. He then maintained the Am lead until handing over to Ciglia, who managed the advantage all the way to the checkered flag, sealing a flawless weekend.

In the Lamborghini Cup, Adalberto Baptista also stepped onto the podium, finishing third in class in Race 1 after a comeback of five positions. The Brazilian was unfortunately forced to retire early in Race 2, leaving him ninth in the standings.

The next round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe takes place in October at Spain’s Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
