Oregon Team qualifies LMP3 Norma in P8 at Spa-Francorchamps

“We are pretty satisfied today as we confirmed the steps made in the previous rounds. Not making any mistake will be imperative tomorrow because, at this track, if we run trouble-free, we can safely aim for the top five positions.” Jerry Canevisio is confident after qualifying for the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the fifth of the six European Le Mans Series rounds of 2017, scheduled at Spa-Francorchamps.

At the Belgian circuit, the Norma M30 LMP3 brought on-track by the Cremosano-based team scored the eight fastest lap of the Official session which set the grid for the race. The fourth row placing will allow the drivers, Italian Dario Capitanio and Davide Roda, joined by Colombian Andrés Méndez, to build a positive strategy in order to bring home another important result.

With a lap of 2’15″703, the French-built car fielded by Canevisio and Giorgio Testa team, ended up not far away from the leading pack, less than 0.3s away from the top-5.

It was a promising start considering the challenging nature of the track, flowing among the Ardennes forest. As everybody knows, everything is possible there.

The 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will start at 12 noon tomorrow, with live streaming on www.europeanlemansseries.com.
