No mistakes, perfect strategy hand Oregon Team top-10 finish in 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps race

The 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the sixth and penultimate round of the European Le Mans Series, handed the Oregon Team a top-10 result. The positive result rewarded a perfect strategy planned by the whole team on the Belgian circuit, but also the fact that none of the three drivers made any mistakes, taking their Norma M30 LMP3 to the finish in a tough race on one of the most demanding tracks of the calendar.

After scoring the eighth fastest lap in Saturday’s qualifying session, Dario Capitanio, Davide Roda (who served a double intermediate stint) and Colombian Andrés Mendez managed to climb up to P7 before losing three spots but still ending up in P10.

“I’m satisfied,” confirmed Jerry Canevisio, “We did our job without mistakes and hiccups, in a pretty decent race: it couldn’t get much better at  Spa. The guys were great. We completed one less pit stop compared to the others, making the most of a safety car situation. Today we can safely say that we have grown stronger.”

Since Silverstone’s debut last April, the Cremosano-based team made important progress step by steps, and while now the results are finally coming, there is still margin for future improvement.

The challenging debut season of Oregon Team, Capitanio, Roda and Méndez, will continue for the last round of the calendar, scheduled for the 21st and 22nd of October at the Algarve circuit in Portimão.
