Oregon Team is set to continue in their growing up season in the 2017 European Le Mans Series. Despite the disappointing 4 Hours of Le Castellet, which ended with 10 minutes to go due to a mechanical problem, the team owned by Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa worked really hard on their new Norma M30 LMP3.
For the next round of the European Championship (the fifth out of six rounds on the calendar) scheduled this weekend, the goal will be again to fight for the podium. On the fascinating seven-mile circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, Italians Dario Capitanio and Davide Roda will be again partnered by Colombian Andrés Méndez. It is the same track where the Oregon Team won the Endurance and Prestige class of the Renault Sports Trophy with a brilliant win by Capitanio two years ago.
Capitanio himself has already shown himself as one of the best qualifying contenders, as well as Roda in Bronze testing. On the other hand, Méndez continued his apprenticeship on the French car and the team has all what it takes to perform.
The 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will start on Sunday at 12 noon, but the action will begin on Friday with the 30-minute Bronze Test starting at 11.20 am. The first of the two 90-minute free practice sessions will be later the same afternoon. The second free practice will take place on Saturday and will precede the qualifications, with the LMP3 ones set at 13.35.
