Oregon Team is set to tackle the second of the eight rounds on the International GT Open calendar, scheduled for this weekend on the over seven-kilometer-long Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
After a challenging trip to Portimão, where the two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 cars from the Cremosano-based team were penalized by an unfavorable BoP, the goal in Belgium is to aim high in the single 500 km race set to take place on Sunday. This format is therefore unusual compared to the other weekends of the series, which instead feature a double-race layout.
With a field of 31 entries, Artem Petrov and Antoine Doquin will once again take turns behind the wheel of one of the cars from the Sant’Agata Bolognese manufacturer, just as they did in the previous Algarve round, where they finished outside the overall top 10, with a best result of twelfth place at the end of Saturday’s Race 1.
The other Pro pairing will consist of Robin Rogalski and Filip Ugran, who also finished both races in Portimão, though further down the order.
Last year at Spa, Oregon Team celebrated an excellent second place achieved by the duo of Alessio Deledda and Jordan Pepper, who had already secured a win at the previous round held at the German Hockenheim circuit.
The Belgian weekend will kick off on Friday, May 16, with the usual free practice sessions. On Saturday, Qualifying 1 is scheduled from 11:05 to 11:30 a.m., while the second qualifying session will begin in the afternoon at 3:10 p.m.
The race, with a rolling start, will get underway on Sunday at 11:25 a.m. and will last for a maximum of two hours and 55 minutes, plus one additional lap.
Qualifying and the race will be streamed live on the championship’s official YouTube channel @GTOPENseries.
