Just a few days after competing at the Nürburgring in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, Oregon Team returns to the track this weekend at Imola for the third of four rounds of the Italian GT Endurance, ahead of the season finale at Mugello in early November.
At the Santerno circuit, Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa’s squad will once again enter a single Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 in the endurance series, but with a partially revised and highly competitive driver line-up.
Joining the returning Enzo Geraci and Guido Luchetti on this occasion will be Maximilian Paul. The German driver is already well acquainted with the Cremosano-based team, having raced with Oregon Team in the 2023 GT Open, claiming four victories, before making further appearances in the same series the following year. He now returns to the wheel after sustaining an injury at the Norisring during last July’s DTM round.
It marks a high-profile comeback for 26-year-old Paul, a factory driver for the Sant’Agata Bolognese manufacturer, whose arrival undoubtedly completes a front-running line-up.
After securing a solid seventh place overall in the second round at Monza in June – with Artem Petrov as the third driver – and putting the difficult opening weekend at Misano firmly behind them, the goal at Imola will be to return to the leading positions.
The first two one-hour free practice sessions are scheduled for Friday, followed by a third session on Saturday morning. Qualifying will also take place on Saturday, starting at 2:00 PM, while the three-hour race will get underway on Sunday at 12:05 PM and will be broadcast live on the official @CIGranTurismo YouTube channel and ACI Sport TV.
