Oregon Team has confirmed the two driver pairings that will take to the track this weekend at Imola for the opening round of the Italian GT Sprint Championship, which features four events across the season. The Cremosano-based squad will make its debut in the national series, fielding two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 entries with two all-new, high-profile line-ups.
On one of the Sant’Agata Bolognese-built cars, already announced drivers Enzo Geraci (19-year-old Frenchman) and Tuscany’s Guido Luchetti (born in 2005) will share driving duties. Both drivers step up from the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, where they were among the standout performers during the previous season.
Another major addition is the return of Luca Ghiotto to the Italian GT Championship. The driver from Veneto brings extensive single-seater experience, having competed up to IndyCar and Formula 2 – where he secured multiple race wins. He previously raced in the Italian series in 2021, claiming a victory at Mugello. Ghiotto has also competed across a wide range of GT categories in both Europe and America, as well as in prototype racing, most recently contesting the European Le Mans Series in the LMP2 class over the past two seasons.
Joining him behind the wheel will be Artem Petrov, a well-established name in GT racing. Petrov is highly familiar with the Sant’Agata Bolognese machinery and has already worked with the team led by Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa, having competed with Oregon Team in the GT Open Championship over the past two years.
Petrov, along with Geraci and Luchetti, will also represent Oregon Team in the Italian GT Endurance Championship, which gets underway at Misano on 10 May and will feature a further three rounds.
With a record entry list, the Imola weekend will kick off on Friday with three free practice sessions. Qualifying will take place on Saturday, followed by Race 1 (50 minutes plus one lap) scheduled for 15:00 CEST. Race 2 will get underway on Sunday at 14:00 CEST. Both races will be broadcast live on ACI Sport TV and streamed on the championship’s official YouTube channel.
